"…look on stage and behind-the-scenes of singer @Pink P!nk’s tour. Read on for more information about his work, exhibit, and insight.
Letanguerrant is a cosmopolitan. Born in Halifax, Canada, in 1963, he only spent the first three months of his life there. As a photographer, musician, and dancer, he has been traveling his whole life. He lived in Paris for 15 years, but has also lived in New York, Montreal, Miami, Vancouver, and Melbourne. For the last eight years he has been based in Los Angeles .
Letanguerrant has been working in the music scene for over three decades, and the list of names he has toured with is long: Prince, Sting, Sade, Céline Dion, Cher, Mariah Carey, Sinéad O’Connor, Moby, and Seal, to name a few. However, his closest relationship is with P!nk. He has been accompanying and getting to know her like few others for the past two years. “P!nk is one of the best performers and singers I’ve ever seen. She’s one of the hardest workers I’ve ever met, she gives 200% to her work – all the time,” the photographer, who admits to being one of her greatest fans, says enthusiastically. It is no surprise then that the photographer has taken such unique pictures of the artist. The apparent ease seen in the images belies the complexity of the photographer’s work. “Shooting ‘live’ conditions isn’t easy, because the lights change all the time – and their intensity as well. I have to change my settings constantly. The band moves all the time, especially P!nk; she’s always running around on stage. One second she’s here, a second later she’s somewhere else.” Letanguerrant is concerned about the authenticity of his pictures, so he does not use Photoshop. The photographer and his camera (whether a Leica M, M9 or M2) are one entity. “I look at something or someone and all I think about is how I can make it look in a picture.”
"Keeping in line with the acoustically driven tone of their first track, "You and Me,” strings float in and out as Moore and Green sit an octave apart atop sparse strums during the verses. In the chorus, the duo harmonizes with a more upbeat feel, matched in lyrics like, “Let me heal…
[Single Review - “You and Me”]
2014 is a pretty great time to be alive. It’s a time when a pop superstar and a post-hardcore-turned-country-folk singer can come together in literal harmony and it’s something to be celebrated. Just 8 short years ago, Alecia Moore (who you may know as the embodiment of empowerment and global phenomenon P!nk) was singing decrying scrubby dudes to evenings with nothing but U + Ur Hand to stadiums full of devotees. Meanwhile, Dallas Green was providing melodic hooks for arguably the heaviest music ever to come out of Ontario as co-frontman of Alexisonfire. My how times have changed.
The interim saw Moore continue her domination of the charts with a consistency few others will ever hope to match and Green quietly exit Alexisonfire to focus on his more heartfelt/acoustic side as City and Colour. The somewhat unlikely pair has since joined forces under the name You+Me and their eponymous debut single You and Me goes to show that there’s a much deeper connection at play than the skin on their famously tattooed bodies. From the tentative opening fingerpicking of the first release from their forthcoming LP Rose Ave., it’s pretty clear that the time Dallas spent in Nashville recording The Hurry and the Harm (the most recent City and Colour record) had a pretty profound effect. The gorgeous fragility that pervades You and Me is underscored by little more than swooning pedal steel and cautiously brushed snare and their two distinct voices blend so perfectly that even they themselves must’ve been surprised with the result. With Rose Ave. slated for release next month, You and Me (the song) proves that You+Me (the band) is less a Dr. Frankenstein experiment in market crossover by the heads at RCA and more a pure connection between two established artists that was well and truly worth exploring.
@Pink performing at iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas Sept. 22 2012.
2 years ago (9/22/2012) @Pink played the MGM Grand Garden Arena where fans got their first listen of new songs from her (then) new album, “The Truth About Love”. P!nk ended her set with “So What” literally flying around the enclosed arena for the first time ever (She previously done these aerial moves at her Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour in UK/EU 2010)
About a year and a half later(1/21/14), P!nk sold out the MGM Grand Garden Arena when she played her last date of “The Truth About Love Tour”.
“With the singer @Pink serving as grand marshal, hundreds of motorcyclists roared through the Las Posas Gate of Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu Sunday, Sept. 14, for the seventh annual Ride to the Flags.
The base is traditionally the kickoff point for the ride to Malibu’s Pepperdine University, where 2,977 flags — one for each innocent person killed during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks — fly for several days every September.”
